Welcome to Naples Florida
PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 23, 2009 – Naples, FL: Come on over Rover, get off the beach Pete, On October 31, Camp Bow Wow, the country’s premier doggy day and overnight camp, will open its doors at 3382 Mercantile Avenue to local and visiting pups alike. Now Naples puppy parents can leave their dogs to socialize and play while they’re at work, running errands or traveling with the confidence that their pups are being well cared for by Dominic and Isel Tiziano and their well-trained team of Camp Counselors®.
Conveniently located half a mile south of Golden Gate Parkway near the intersection of Mercantile Avenue and Airport-Pulling Road, the Tiziano’s designed their state-of-the-art domain for dogs with amenities guaranteed to get tails wagging. The 6,000 square foot Camp has three large, climate-controlled indoor play areas with adjoining outside yards where campers can roam inside and out at will. Outside play yards are equipped with shade canopies and puppy pools to ensure that campers are comfortable, even on the hottest dog-day afternoon. The camp-style lobby will house a retail shop filled with must-have doggy accessories like leashes and collars. Camp Bow Wow Naples will also offer basic grooming services and has plans to offer training classes in the future. Puppy parents can check in on the activities in the play yards by logging on to the Camp Bow Wow Naples website to watch real-time footage broadcast by one of the many Camper Cams® installed around the camp.
“We’re pleased to provide a new option for people visiting Naples with their pups,” said Isel Tiziano. “Now they can bring their dogs to Camp Bow Wow to have fun romping and playing with other campers instead of leaving them cooped up alone in a hotel room all day. Their pups will be happier and they can attend to their business, the beach or golf game without worrying about their dogs.”
After playing all day, Campers staying overnight retreat to one of the camp’s 51 spacious, private, climate-controlled cabins for dinner and a rest. The cabins, all furnished with a comfy cot and soft fleece blanket, are large enough to allow several campers from the same family to bunk together if they’d like. A pampered pooch might prefer the Deluxe suite, furnished with up to three extra-large, ultra plush log beds and a dedicated Camper Cam®. To avoid upset tummies, parents of overnight campers are encouraged to bring their pup’s food from home so they have the food they’re used to. Otherwise, holistic food will be provided free of charge. Before bedtime, each camper enjoys a tasty Campfire Treat.
“The safety of every pup entrusted to our care is our first priority,” continued Dominic Tiziano. “And it’s one of the reasons the complimentary interview day is so important to us. Every dog is unique – some thrive in group situations, while they stress others. The interview day allows us to get to know each camper’s personality and energy level so we can place them with the correct pack.” Campers are supervised by a staff of Certified Camp Counselors® trained in pet CPR and first aid, dog behavior, safety and health management, with 1 counselor for every 15 campers at all times.
All campers attending Camp Bow Wow are required to participate in an interview day at Camp before they can attend on a regular basis. Because Naples thrives on its tourist economy, Pups can attend Camp Bow Wow Naples if they’ve been certified by another Camp Bow Wow. The interview day is free of charge and vaccination records must be provided. All canine campers must be neutered or spayed if over 6-months old, up-to-date on their rabies and distemper vaccinations, be in good general health and have had a Bordetella (Canine Cough) vaccination with the last six months.
The Tizianos moved to Southwest Florida five years ago from Chicago in search of warmer weather. Both were in sales and traveled constantly. When they left their dogs, Nina, a Miniature Pincher, and Pancho, a Boston Terrier Mix, at boarding facilities, they always felt uneasy. A family friend suggested that they look into Camp Bow Wow. They did and liked it so much they decided to open their own Camp.
Camp Bow Wow Naples plans to work with the Humane Society and similar rescue organizations to foster dogs for adoption. For more information, to make a reservation or to schedule an interview day at camp, please call 239.352.BARK (2275) or visit www.campbowwow.com/naples.
